FoxIt works great to make PDFs printable still, reducing files from 20 MB+ to 200 kB. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be quite as reliable as your LasterWriter, I had to replace the toner cartridge after only 4 years and the new toner cost about 1/2 what the user printer cost.
